Why Work With Me at St Andrews Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited expertise
I’m a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) and UKCP-accredited psychotherapist, bringing rigorous training, ethical practice, and evidence-informed methods to help you make steady, meaningful progress.
Accredited expertise
Before specialising in psychotherapy, I spent nearly 30 years in NHS nursing as Senior Sister, Health Visitor, and Nurse Practitioner—so I integrate body, mind, and context in every session.
Outcome-led therapy
We’ll agree clear goals and use outcome measures to track what helps, adjusting your plan together so sessions stay focused, effective, and relevant to your life.
Compassion + clarity
Expect warmth, curiosity, and plain language. You’ll leave each session with practical next steps, a calmer perspective, and a sense of being genuinely understood.

What I can help with
People come to therapy for many reasons, including:
• Anxiety and worry
• Low mood and depression
• Stress and burnout
• Grief and loss
• Confidence and self-esteem
• Relationship challenges
• Life transitions
• Recovery from difficult or traumatic experiences.
I also bring experience from 8 years of voluntary work with the Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre in Dundee.

About Carol
I’m a Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapist with 15+ years in private practice, grounded in decades of clinical experience from the NHS. I’m currently completing my PhD on how outcome measures can improve therapy journeys. If we decide to work together, I’ll send a brief intake form and an outcome questionnaire before our first session so we can start with a clear picture of what you want from therapy.
